Reformed Church of Debrecen

Debrecen, Piac str. 4-6.
~35 km
It is an iconic building of Debrecen, a symbol of the Hungarian Reformed Church, a National Monument, an architectural monument, a tourist attraction - and we could go on and on about why the Reformed Church of Debrecen is so important.
The church was built at the beginning of the 19th century, after its predecessor, the Church of St Andrew, was destroyed by fire in 1802. It is the largest Reformed church in Hungary by floor area, with a capacity of over 2000 people. Today, the church is visited by tens of thousands of people every year, who can visit the churchyard, the biblical exhibitions, the loft, the towers and the bells, and the panoramic walkway between the two towers, which offers a beautiful view of downtown Debrecen.
